80-year-old goat breeder Noel Padgham took her car into the shop after living for a week with a noise she described as "clunketer, clunketer, clunketer." When air-conditioning mechanic Kit Carson (no we're not kidding) opened up the dash to take a look, he probably didn't expect to find a three foot, four inch carpet python curled up in the ventilation systems fan.
The snake had been whirling around inside the fan and the tip of its tail had been dangling out, hitting against the housing and making the noise. Carson took the snake to the vet where the tip had to be amputated, but aside from being a couple inches shorter the snake is fine and expected to make a full recovery. Carson is expected to visit the local clothier for a fresh pair of pants.
