Hemmings Muscle Machines editor Terry McGean and I hit the road yesterday to attend an event up in central Michigan: the Pure Stock Muscle Car Drags. On our way, we stopped for lunch and ran across this desirable classic:
Not the world’s best shot of a ‘57 Bel Air. It was parked in front of a popular roadside eatery that’s scattered across America. But was was interesting, and likely not at all visible here, is the fixture it had become when parked: it was held in place by a steel frame and concrete. Also obvious was the fact that it has been exposed to the elements for some time, and it was slowly, painfully, returning to the earth. And no, the interior was gutted, as was likely the drivetrain!
