Blue Man Group In First Official 2010 Toyota Prius Video [Detroit Auto Show]

Here's the first official video of the 2010 Toyota Prius set to debut at the Detroit Auto Show next month. It features none other than the Blue Man Group. Oh joy, this should be fun.

2010 Toyota Prius Teasers Show Engine Bay For First Time [Detroit Auto Show]

The exhausting and inconsequential teaser series surrounding the 2010 Toyota Prius continues and now we get to see something that matters — the Hybrid Synergy Drive nestled snugly in its engine bay.

Along with the engine bay shot we get a peek at such hugely exciting bits as the headlight at night, a closeup of the door handle, and the Toyota badge. We can't tell if the badge is lit up or just has a printed blue effect behind it, but if Toyota keeps this kind of excitement up, we probably won't make it to the Detroit Auto Show unveil. A Prius plug-in to be tested by Toyota in Japan

Toyota Plug-in Prius

It has been reported that Toyota is preparing to plug-in to the idea that there is enough demand and sufficient need to test a plug-in hybrid Prius. That was the report on Green Car Congress bringing news from Japan that Toyota has applied for permission from Japan’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport to test their new plug-in Prius.  Not only will they be testing the technology that some in California have been voiding their Toyota warranties to enjoy but the test Prius’ will be coming with the li-ion batteries that have been an issue for the company. It seems in prior attempts Toyota has complained about the li-ion batteries over-heating, but maybe this is a sign that they have addressed that issue.
Either way Toyota’s test plug-in is a real win for those who have tauted their plug-in success with 100+ mpg for over a year now. Way to catch-up Toyota!
